How this site is built

Methodology

Data sources

Candidate names, districts, and contact information come from the candidate filings published by the Idaho Secretary of State at voteidaho.gov and from each candidate's Statement of Organization (Form C-1).

Political committee information — registered name, treasurer, address, and committee type — comes from the Idaho Secretary of State's Sunshine campaign finance portal at sunshine.voteidaho.gov, ingested from the published bulk CSV downloads.

What the site shows

Per race: each candidate's name, party, incumbency status, and contact information drawn from their public filing. A link out to the Sunshine portal for campaign finance activity.

Per committee: the committee's registered name, treasurer, address, type, registration date, and a list of other committees on file with the same treasurer. A link out to the Sunshine portal for the committee's filings.

What the site does not show

Dollar figures from campaign filings. Per-race activity feeds. Summaries of candidate records or positions. Editorial characterizations of any candidate or committee. For any of these, the Sunshine portal and each candidate's own campaign materials are the sources.

Refresh cadence

The candidate roster is locked after the Idaho Secretary of State's certification of candidates on March 13, 2026, except for any withdrawals.

The committee directory is refreshed weekly during steady state. New committees that register mid-cycle appear on the site after the next refresh and after editorial review of the affiliation line.

Affiliation lines

Where a committee's statement of organization clearly identifies its sponsoring organization or constituency, that information is reproduced as written. Where it does not, the affiliation line states "Affiliation not stated in filings." Editorial summaries are not invented.
